God Bless our troops and others who have given it all for our country and Freedom!!
May they rest in peace. Let us all share our thoughts and ideas. Too bad we are still fighting a War. When will it end?

thank you for posting a reminder. My dad was USMC on Iwo Jima. Involved in some action.
Obviously, not the first wave, or I wouldn't be here. He was 20 years old at the time.

Hey Steve:

If you mean the war between good & evil, likely never. As to regional wars, thats Politics by other means.

To our departed defenders:

"Requiem æternam dona eis, Domine,
et lux perpetua luceat eis."

"Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord,
and let perpetual light shine upon them."

"In memoria æterna erit iustus,
ab auditione mala non timebit."

"He/they shall be justified in everlasting memory,
and shall not fear evil reports."

Pax Vobiscum,
Gareth

gareth i have enough problems understanding english these days, init etc,but i think every soldier who fights for his country does it with the right intentions,to defend his country, and my thoughts are there for their families, and i wish that they all return home in one piece,to live the lives they all deserve, and that we can all learn to live as one,in peace, ken

my regiments motto
Ubique ("Everywhere")
granted by William IV in 1833. Its subsidiary motto is Quo Fas et Gloria Durumpled clam (should be another word du---- but site forbids old english) ("Where Right and Glory Lead"). ken

Hey Ken:

Since we're trading histories:

My regiment, Regular Army I served 1978-80 Canadian Brigade West Germany (After enlisting in sept. 1977)
8th Canadian Hussars (Princess Louise's)
Originally founded as the New Brunswick Regiment of Yeomanry Cavalry in 1848 by the regimentation of a number of independent cavalry troops, the regiment was the first volunteer cavalry regiment in British North America.

Motto:
Regi patriaque fidelis
For King and Country

After leaving Regular Army, Reserves 1981-82 Governor General's Horse Guard
Originated in 1822
"Nulli Secundus"- Second to None

Long time ago now. signed up to fight what I thought would be the Third war in Europe in the 20th century. My Grandfather who died before I was born served in France in WW1. My Mom; RCAF and Dad Cdn Army WW2. Happily WW3 never happened, God Bless Ronald Reagen!

OK, back to trains.

Hope you've given it a lot of thought. It's a pretty odd culture the military.
