On the AHM FM C-Liner engines I need quite a few traction tires. Can anyone suggest something to use? These tires are more like a small flat rubber bands.

Try a Forum search for "traction tire". There are several discussions on tires here.
My input: Stewart makes tires. You can find them on Ebay.
www.yardbirdtrains.com has them.
