I was told once that the Coke tanker (or some of them) was rare as Coke Cola was supposed to have discontinued Tycos production on these. I don't know if that was true.
I love Tyco trains from years ago but I'm not one who cares much about variances, rarity, etc I buy the pieces I like and or ones had as a kid.
The Tyco Union tanker is one I never had as a kid. I have always liked the long 3 dome tankers and have all of the Tyco offered ones.

From what I read (and my observances at train shows as well) is that the 3 dome Coke car isn't hard at all to come by (though still sometimes vendors try to get a lot for them anyway). Now the small single dome Coke car I had a tough time getting for a good price until last fall. Perhaps that is the car that was discontinnued, as its harder to find. Also the Coke box car is even harder to find (and I got that one from someone here on this forum).

One thing for sure that I never mentioned is the fact that there are many, many Coke Cola 3 dome tankers on ebay and has been for years... Which leads me to believe the rarity of the Coke 3 dome tanker is a myth... Walt
