I missed the big Timonium Train show due to a water pump failure, but today I hit a local toy show and found some neat train items. One vendor had 3 little engines, two steamers and one Hustler type shunter, got them for $5 all. The wheel gauge is an exact fit for N gauge track, and they're scaled for it, too. All they say is Hong Kong on the bottom, the bodies are metal, just the chassis and wheels are plastic. Here's a pic of the 3, ft to back , red diesel, blue steam, black steam, with 2 Matchbox trains in the background ( they look the same size due to exaggerated close-up shot ). Also a Lesney Trolley missing the roof, also apparently close to N gauge, wheels are just a hair wide. If anyone can tell me more about them, I think they are nice, and well-detailed for diecast trains.
Picked up various diecast trucks for HO use, found 3 trucks by Marx, 2 tows and a dump. Never seen Marx diecast vehicles before. Neat!

It's the other Matchbox engine, so I guess it's not a Triang.

This is the engine I'm going to try to put a working HO chassis under. I posted this in another place some time back, but I don't remember where.

It weights 1.1 ounces soaking dry. And yes, it has spoked wheels on it, plastic.

Okay, this sucker has the biggest overhang of anything I own! Making it Even cooler! Does anyone know the Minimum radius of a Kato N Scale C44-9W? Had to peel of the BR stickers because one was about to fall off(and because They would surely come off when I wrapped the model in Ducktape to avoid scratching it when it is in the visegrip, you`ll find out what I am doing with it later ). And It Looks Even Better in person! Now how does VA Get toy shows and NC doesn`t? I couldn`t find shows in 50 miles from here other than the AWESOME New Bern Show!

I've found Web calenders with more than a few train shows in NC myself. True, not NEAR as many as VA, MD, DC, PA, etc. have. Then again, we're the "industrialized north", not the pasturized south. Probably not near as many moonshiners play with trains as gov't beaurocratic geeks do up here. Am I in trouble yet? Anyway, sometimes gotta search harder to find the shows down your way. Just hit a small 1-day show today in Ranson, WV of all places, pretty good show, even one of my club members was up there selling his trees. And some HO stuff he'd acquired, I got some GREAT deals today. Next weekend is the big Timonium, MD show, my club will be there with modular layout, I will be there on Saturday.

Nope, was just going to see what would fit inside. If you're talking about the tiny N gauge steam engines I just sent ya, no, I wasn't planning on powering THOSE. I was planning on powering the yellow Matchbox UK Dock shunter. Still no idea what I"m going to use under it, but have some ideas with trolley traction motor trucks.
