| I didnt know when I was a kid but half of the valve gear was missing,so it had a little restore done to it to get the missing parts a few months ago.

That's an underappreciated loco, IMO. The working front coupler is nice.
Love the layout! Simple, fun, multi-scale. I've got that Plasticville house on my Lionel layout.

AHH memories !....of my first "workhorse" on my first layout.
My 1615 worked my yard for many years primarily the Lionel coal ramp and lumber ramp in my yard.

it was then replaced later with a 1656 "bell ringer"...even with its die cast tender and elecro- magnet couplers it could not compare to the "newer" 1615

They both have been "retired" for the most part and all switching duties are handled by this "sure footed little beast"....

Hey Guys,
those are some nice old trains. At one point when I was young, I was all over the place with my trains. I had HO, N and O scale stuff. It came down to having to make a choice for the sake of uniformity. So I chose to stay with HO. I don't have expensive tastes when It comes to trains, So when I see some of the old Lionel and Marx O scale stuff going so cheap at Train Shows and Flea Markets, I think to myself " I will just pick up a couple to display for old time sake" but we know how that would turn out LOL. Since I don't have any O scale of my own now, I really enjoy seeing the stuff you guys post.
Thanks Mike

| nice locos, even though most of my trains are ho my kids are slowly getting me into the lionel, simply because they are easier for them to handle.I only threw this layout together in a hurry and only half of the platform is in place.i plan to tear it all down and get some color into it with the kids help since i am color blind lol.
