I don't routinely follow football, but certainly enjoyed the battle of these Iron Men. A hard fought match, much strategy and skill. Wasn't the Half Time show a dud?
Love that Dorrito's car, and the GP 30 is a spectacular blend of oranges and greens. Definitely one for the imaginary Tyco Calendar.
Armadilloville sparkles with life and character thanks to the many excellent contributions of Anderson Paint Shops, which painstakingly transformed ordinary vehicles into one-off masterpieces.

Sharkomania. That head on shot of the Reading F is a remarkable blend of dark colors, almost black and white, but it is a color photograph. This is a very interesting technique and the shot is superb.
Really neat old switchers of a railroad not often seen in this part of the world.

Thanks. Most of my weathering is a very thin wash of black acrylic paint. How thick or thin to put it on is a bit of trial and error. If it's too thick, you can thin it right on the car side with a wet brush, if you get it while it's still wet. If it's pooling where you don't want so much, you can dry the brush with a paper towel and then use the brush to wick up the excess.
Since I mostly model steam, I'm trying for that fine patina of soot that everything wears around steam. It's not elaborate, but it kills the toy-like appearance.
Washes just bead up on glossy surfaces, but I usually use flat paint. Where I have to deal with something glossy, I sometimes just paint over it with a clear coat of acrylic matte medium.
There's a thin haze of muddy colored overspray on the end of the box car. That's the work of a previous owner who probably had an air brush.

A snazzy new Great Western Railway Diesel Rail Coach stops to pick up travelers at Station Henley in 1933.
Waiting for the "Up" train at Station Henley, 1967. Some folks prefer a more traditional style of dress. (It is interesting that in the UK, many modelers extensively and frequently go to lengths to model passenger service, such is the status of traveling by train. In North America, there is a much larger emphasis on freight traffic).
