The Impressionists of the 19th century knocked everyone's socks off by painting light, not simply images. WKS, you are capturing an Impressionistic view of trains with your exceptional use of light and of the colors of light in so many of your photographs.
The white on snow photos are exceptional in every way, and this commuter train shot is a superb use of light, and the absence of light combined with motion. Additionally, you capture shadow in the most evocative manner, that speaks of the passing of time. This is your hallmark, and so well done.

The TF Railroader News February 1 2019
Some photos last night in western Massachusetts.

The Minuteman Express ready to depart North Adams Massachusetts.

At a guard shanty approaching Hoosac Tunnel.

Six miles east a boxcar has uncoupled from a freight set!

A nearby railroad worker saw this and grabbed the lantern!

He frantically signals that a boxcar blocks the path to the approaching passenger train!

The Minuteman exits Hoosac Tunnel unaware of the danger two miles away!

The engineer notices the lantern light and applies the brakes! Danger averted by less than 30 yards! Wow!

Today the worker is on that boxcar headed to Worcester Massachusetts.

He looks to make sure the boxcar does not uncouple again! He had enough stress last night! He still grasps the lantern!
