Seems like the Tyco Amtrak has been around forever. I believe I would be correct to say that the Plastic bodied Tyco Amtrak come out in the very early 60s...

Tyco made Amtrak cars from the early 70's until the early 80's. There are ways of narrowing down when your particular cars were made. Do your cars have metal of plastic chassis's? What colour(s) is the stripe on the windows? If you can post pics that would help as well.

The Amtrak Passenger cars debuted in 1972 as the Inter-City set. The Inter-City set contained the three passenger cars you mentioned pulled by an F-9 diesel. The Amtrak passenger cars remained available until 1981. In 1981 the final passenger set EVER by Tyco was the Broadway Limited. This set contained the three passenger cars pulled by an Amtrak GG-1.

Tyco released it's last catalog in 1993 then ceased to exist anymore.

The chassis are metal and have a dark blue stripe across the windows.
The engine that came with the cars was an F9.

I sold the engine and two cars on ebay a few days ago. The only one left is the combine.
I needed to prove to one of the buyers that they are vintage from the '70s.

The blue stripe version ran from 1972-76, in the 1977 catalog they are tri-color striped.
