I have recently been dealing with Athearn out in Ca, locating hard to find old Roundhouse Loco kit parts - they have been very helpful.
Recommend if your looking for a Roundhouse part try Chuck at Athearn Parts: cshort@athearn.com They go the extra mile for customer satisfaction.
Anyway, while looking for Roundhouse part # 3400, Caboose Body Molding, part of Kit 1502, 3:1 ( 26' Old Timer Flat Cars) - Chuck commented that all of their stock of that part was sold to one individual when Athearn moved. Anyone know who that might be? Trying to track the part down. Tanked

| I've been looking for the bull gear for the Roundhouse Boxcab diesel. I got the P/N number from a drawing on HO Seeker. I'd like to find the source for those parts. You would think that whom ever bought their stock would try to publicly sell them? Thanks for the info. I might give Chuck a call.

It might be River City Railroad on eBay. http://stores.ebay.com/RIVER-CITY-RAILROAD-RCR
He has a huge supply of Roundhouse car parts and a few loco parts as well. From everything I've been told, he's an excellent seller.

What's a bull gear, and where does it fit? I have several Boxcab units, some partial, if I can't make a complete one, I might could sell ya a spare part or two.

Read the list - see no mention of a "Bull" gear. Idler, worm, main, but no bull. Point it out. No bull! LOL.
Ok, went out to Google and looked up the Boxcab "bull gear"...you meant the whole geared cluster then. Fine, I"ll see if I have one I can spare. Try to use the part names on the list and not ones NOT on the list next time! LOL.

A bull gear is the largest gear in a drive train, in this case part #28106.
