The Feb. and March 2010 Railroad Model Craftsman magazine has a two part article on the "freelancing", models that were represent RRs that didn't actually have that specific prototype, produced by model railroad manufacturers after WWII and into more modern times. The articles appear in the "Collector Consist" section that is in the back pages of each issue. Tyco and Mantua are mentioned as well as John English and Varney and others.
The first article shows some pics of Mantua steam kits and the second shows pics of Tyco Engines slot cars and accessories.
All together not a lot of pictures or info but interesting enough to see Tyco getting some press.
