Among the long list of projects I've got written down, if not to accomplish someday, is to convert some interesting toy HO engines to actual powered status. here's one I found at a Model Railroad hobby shop, it's a floor push-toy, but it's detailed enough that it would fit in with a realistic operation, I think. What do you think? Not sure where to start looking for a powerplant, as the high-speed stuff doesn't have the exposed trucks and look different than your standard Diesel switcher or long-haul engine.

I like the looks of it, and haven't seen another HO model with that swoopy look as yet. Not inexpensivelly, anyway! Here's the underside :

Any suggestions welcome for powering this unit. It is rather short at 7 inches, so a long chassis won't work.
