Here are my finds from today's train show. This goes along with what's being said in other threads about waiting to find a bargain amidst the current high prices:

All the ones on the left side were $1 each, except the Coke car that they threw in for free because of the missing truck. The other cars were $2-5 each, and the locos were $8 and $9, probably could have talked down to less if I'd tried. I also got a second Hot Wheels Ecto-1! (thanks to MB for the first!)

Back to the price issue--one example I had recently is with the BN loco above. While at an antique store in Branson with my wife, we saw one just like it for $50. I laughed and told her "I'll bet I can get one for less than 10 bucks!" And there it is. So hang in there, let the other people pay high prices, and look for deals!

I went to a small train show in Atchison, Kansas today. I love this show because it's a nice drive, it's small, and fun. They have two layouts and two dealers. That's it. I really like it.

Anyway, I got some good stuff. Two powered Budd RDC units, and one dummy. So far I've got one of them running and one will be soon. I picked up a couple pieces of rolling stock...a Mail Pouch Tobacco box car, Pearl beer car, and Ajax cleaner hopper. I'll post those eventually in COTW.

The best part was my daughter, who without my knowledge picked up awesome boxcars...Domino sugar, Timken roller bearings, and a a Tyco Rock Island caboose. When we got home she said " I think that Rock Island is a Tyco." Needless to say, I'm proud.
