I recently came across at Tyco brown box train set. I'm having trouble identifying the year and set name. The only identifying mark is what appears to be some sort of serial numer on the corner of the box. It says: 7505 and directly under that is J-02-4. It comes with a Santa Fe Locomotive, Yellow Shell tank car, a silver Swift boxcar and a red Santa Fe caboose. It also comes with Power pack, track and a box of signs and light poles.
Any and all help is greatly appreciated!!!

ScotM by your description - sounds like your set is a switcher set made in the 70's. Identifying Tyco train sets is hard sometimes as all sets weren't cataloged. If the set is all original -it appears to be one of the cheaper Tyco sets available during that time - a beginners set i would describe - as Tyco sold some "Monster" sets in the 70's. The light poles may have not came with originally unless a promotional item - if the light poles are plastic with wires wrapped around pole to the bulb -it is not a tyco light product - Those were sold by Life-Like and would not have came with any Tyco factory set. 7505 is a Tyco number as is the J-02-4. The second number i believe is either a production / date code - or plant code where set was made
