I just picked up a few Fleischmann's as well on MOnday, through a Craigslist ad. Turns out I got some pretty rare items , and didn't pay much for the lot, either. Here's what I got -

Above - Model 01 1952 , 4-6-2 , circa 1952, made in US West Germany. Other than a bent smoke deflector ( other side ) and loose trailing wheel, and missing a metal panel behind the cab, it's pretty good condition.

Above - a pair of 1431 / 1432 FA Diesels. Look to be in good condition, haven't tried them yet.

Above - a couple of Fleischmann UP all metal passenger cars, with some others .
With a few other items, like a Bachmann remote control Bascule Bridge, a couple Tyco items, and misc. stuff, I picked up some good stuff Monday. Another buyer showed up as well, seller said he had too many no-shows, I could have had 2 times more stuff for the money, but he had 3 small children who wanted some trains, and he gave me first choice, so I left him the Bachmann/Tyco/Life like stuff, and took the more vintage ( and valuable? ) stuff for myself. The other guy was happy, and so was I.

I like the unusual, Frank, I think I've always "belonged" to the ranks of the un-conventional. I don't care for coal drags, or unit trains. I've toted Helium tanker cars, airplanes on flats, NASA tankers, and anything else that pleases me, because I can. I don't think that'll ever change. Oh, I'm currently building up a 70's era Auto-train, a circus consist, among other "normal" consists, but my main interests are non-mainstream loads and trains. I was just bidding on a Marklin Blimp on Ebay (propeller powered ), but it sold for more than I wanted to go ( $128 ). Doesn't match anything else I own, either, but I liked it. These Fleischmann pieces I got was because they were cheap and all metal. Don't match anything I currently have, either, but I knew they were valuable enough, and different enough from what I have to want them anyway. Tyco Santa Fe F7? Got those. Dutch Cleanser boxcars? Meh. But a few unusual pieces, and I get into those. And I'm sure that'll never change.

Hey Frank:
Are you interested in one of the Fleischmann MV9's. I was looking for a home for mine. a runner, but the buffers have been removed and it has kadee's. It's a cold war warrior made in West Germany and bought in West Berlin in `79 when I was serving in Germany then with the Canadian Army...

Here is one I had a long time. * 1494. A 16 wheel , articulated all metal, flat car. A flat car designed for transporting large, heavy, items. I think I have a original box for it. Not sure. It is a 2 part box. Real long. Colored blue. It is the box I got it in long ago. There was no lable on it. toptrain1

I have this one Fleischmann cement car, really pristine. Has strange couplings, though. Available if Burlington 77 wants to add to his set. AARGH......'SCRIPT TIMED OUT' MY PIC WON'T UPLOAD. Is the file too big? I may be able to change that. My camera was on a setting that makes more pixels.

The file probably is pretty big, given the higher-pixel setting. I usually downsize anything I upload, and at that, it can sometimes take a couple of tries to upload without timing out.

Buying and selling is done in the trading post. This post is for Fleischmann photos. but broken can be found with the parts you need. Post a picture here showing the car with if possible a truck or the broken parts of the truck. Maybe!! frank

Only in a roundabout way. I don't go out of my way to collect Fleischmann, but I have some diesels and steam engines I've picked up over the years. I haven't operated any of them yet other than test them briefly.

* Ron the Gremlin just explained what liking trains is all about. No Fleischmann people here. No Marklin either. No Hornby, No Lionel. No American Flyer. We do have a few Tyco train people here. Just People who like the hobby of model trains. That includes them all. Every kind, type, and make. I am just one person with one opinion. There are lots of people here. Frank
