Bought the following items at a train show in Wallingford, CT. Tyco town was there as well and had set-up a really nice layout combining rail and slot car. The kids couldn't keep away from it as there was so much excitment of seeing if the train would crash into the car! I got the Purina car and the C&O units for $10.00. The Matchbox cars were 3/$21.00. The Mini-Tonkas went for $3.00 each. The Sugar car was $5.00 and the Jack Frost cars were two for $5.00.

No, they are great prices! I used to collect Matchbox cars. They are a steal at $7 each!

I have the fire chief car and a really beat-up taxi.

Yes, I think $7.00 each for near mint Matchbox regular wheels with stickers in great condition is a really good price. I would imagine I could turn them around on Ebay for a small profit but I want to keep them. $10.00 was great for the C&O and the Purina car was included as well. The vendor had them on a 1/2 price table. i think he was just trying to thin out his items or maybe gettin out of the train business as he also had a sign indicating his layout was for sale as well. Maybe moving to Florida?

I like the old regular wheel Matchbox too! I have a mint boxed #20 Taxi ... I believe I have 30 mint boxed regular wheels, 11 of those are ones I actualy had from the late 60s... Don't know why, but when I was young & Hot Wheels & Superfast Matchbox come along, I just put my mint boxed cars in the shelf of my bed and wanted to keep them as they were. I don't care about a money value on these cars. It's the sentimental value of where these cars come from & when, that matters to me.

I hear you, Walt!

I have my entire 1976 1-75 Matchbox Superfast collection from when I was a kid on a shelf above my computer. Some are scratched, some have twisted wheels, most are near mint. Wouldn't trade one of them! It's all about the sentiment. Just like my Comin' 'Round the Mountain set!

I always liked the regular wheel Matchbox, too. Great for train layouts.

I have noticed on ebay that there are guys taking the old Matchbox cars & restoring them nicely with unoriginal colors. They look sharp and would be great to display with the trains. I like my old Matchbox cars in original condition but I wouldn't hesitate a minute to buy some of these repaints for what they are, nicely refinished non originals....
