My first Athearn Hi-Fi

I almost passed on this, really glad I didn't. The original drive setup runs very well. One rubber band isn't sized right, but it can still move along at a good clip. Down the road I'll give it some lights, windows, and maybe upgraded the drive since I've seen lots of people do it before. But for now I'm just pretty happy with it!

| Nice Shay! Did you add the windows? Anything else? I would have liked to picked up a P1K version. But I wanted the B&O name since they did run around my area. Plus this was one of those "If I ever seen on that looks decent and is a good price I'll buy it" deals. So in the end it was a good pickup.

| Yes, it has all its windows. I would rather the Beano as well but, at $11 for both this and a dummy RDC-3, I settled for the New Haven. Both are in excellent condition and the RDC-1 runs very well, almost like it was re-motored. It doesn't even have the characteristic boing motion when given a quick stop.

Hi All,
Those are some nice RDC's you have. I don't have any RDC's of my own, so I will show you an Athearn SDP40 I was given for Valentines day. It has the metal truck frames. I painted the fuel tank as it was really scratched up. She pulls a lot with the all wheel drive.

Love the RDCs. I don't have one myself, so no picture from me this week. If I ever dig out of the snow and get to a train show, I'd love to pick one of these up.
