Can anyone provide info on the export locos made by Alco (or EMD)? Recommend a book or mag article? I saw an add for a book on GE export units, but nothing on Alcos or EMDs.

The Russians copied the Lend-Lease RSDs that were delivered to them during WW II. The locomotives started their trip in Iran and went to the USSR over Iranian tracks. I believe the wheel gauge was adjustable. A lot of the Alcos meant for Europe had the typical european tapered cab to help with tight european clearances.
