I appreciate the kind words about my photos. I was recently asked to show it. I don't use any special techniques, just natural sunlight and a lot of shots to get the one good one. Any appearance of forced perspective is really just the neighborhood and fence behind me.
Here are some shots of the finished areas...

This was my first photo diorama, a simple shop like setup...

...changing perspective simply made it look bigger than it was...

One other I had was simply a double track main with a secondary crossing and a highway that cut across it...

| Shaygetz thank you for posting this!!! I've been wanting to build something to take photos and practice scenery techniques. I figure I'm a long ways off from building my own layout, so a diorama would help. Didn't you post your full "how to" on 2guyz or something I could have sworn I read somewhere how you built it.

Great stuff, SG. I've always admired your photos and the way the houses look natural in the background.

Thanks, she's part of an unpainted outdoor sports set from Prieser, I paint all my own figures.
Alas, Gareth, as one diorama is used up, a new one is built and the old one is stripped of detail and tossed in the dumper.

Man those look good I've been wanting to make a photo diorama lately as well. Something with snow would be nice...what did you use for the snow on yours?

SG:
How many dio's of yours in this thread two? Can you take a panoramic shot for me so I can get a better sense of proportions?
Btw: I agree, with the "Switching-puzzle" diorama things as well. Great for photo's and some operating fun as well!
I think an Interurban/overhead yard would be kinda cool, if a little one dimensional.

Cheez, I used baking soda---I do NOT recommend using it around any chrome parts, that Chevy has lost near all of its chrome since that shoot.
Gareth, all four are shown in here, my next will have catenary.
Here's an overhead for perspective...

| They are all very good photos. Excellent craftsmanship. The photo of the J class steamer is an interesting perspective with the out of focus (depth of field) tree in the foreground.

I thought you had a single, larger diorama shaygetz. Still, excellent photos and excellent modelling.
I'm still looking for some blown-down shingles after every storm!

MR. Electric-Shay!
One with "CAT" how cool is that!
I was thinking that the traction club I belong to which takes a overhead powered modular late 40's Interurban layout to shows; that I'd do a switching puzzle next to it using a Juice jack as the switcher! Remember Chris "Interurban" from 2Guyz? He's my mentor in things electric... Timed puzzle prize end of day.
Btw; do you have something you'd be willing to trade for my American GK E-60CF? Don't really have a use for it...

Really didn't have anything in mind, just had the E-60CF and after seeing your jack and remembering your were an AE on 2Guyz and had a real Interurban interest I thought I might find a good home for it....
Vintage is my primary interest, loco or rolling stock....
