Does anyone know if a Reading Crusader engine was ever made by anyone in HO scale?
I love that train and would love to have an HO engine. I do know of the Penn Line one from the 50s. Anything newer? Not the IHC one, that one isn't the streamlined Crusader.
I found a five-car set of what looks to be factory Reading Crusader aluminum streamline cars by Mantua (blue box); lettered Reading Company and numbered in order with two observation cars.

Hello Mark, Welcome a board...
New Jersey Custom Brass imported a Crusader Set some years ago. It was a rather limited edtion and one of the sets was just sold privately for a five figure sum.
As you mentioned Penn Line produced a Crusader kit. Here's mine from 1948...
GoingInCircles, a dear friend, custom decorated these five Mantua cars to make up the consist.

If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem.

Thanks guys!
After I posted my question, I looked in the archives and saw your train. That is beautiful!
I guess I should have asked, "Has anyone made an HO Reading Crusader that is AFFORDABLE to a regular shmoe!"
I did see the Penn Line Crusader on eBay last year and it sold for $2000. Too rich for my blood!
Guess I'll never have one.
