I have a general query regarding railroader's experiences with running the smaller old time HO scale locos, such as the Roundhouse 2-8-0, 4-4-2, 4-6-0 & 2-6-2, or Tyco/Mantua equivalents.
The query is - have you noticed if 2 wheel front trucks are better , [ie, jump the track less], than 4 wheel front trucks - or vice versa? - on curves of say, 30" diameter , (15" track)

Hi Tanked. 15" Radius track should be used with 0-4-0, 0-6-0 switchers, small diesels like the hustler and trolleys. Anything larger will have problems in the turns. Any of the engines you mentioned will run at their best with no problems with 18" radius. Anything bigger, like a 2-6-6-2 will run better with 22" or bigger radius track. Carl
