Someone asked about this in another thread, so I decided to make it my locomotive of the week:

It's a Tyco BN shark riding on a Life-Like F7 chassis. Simple. It's not for perfectionists, but it's a very easy way to power a shark.

Here's the inside. All I had to do was "whittle" the tabs on the side a little bit. They are in the same place, but they are too big. I wasn't very careful, and ended up with only the middle of the three tabs left. The foam block is there to help keep the shell from tipping backwards. A more careful modeler could have done a better job with this. The only real issues are: a) getting the shell to ride level and b) you have to completely remove the light bracket from the shell. Other than that, it's simple.

| I have that same motor under my LL Chessie F7. Other than the fact in scale speed it runs about 300mph, its been very good to me. Actually on a good MRC transformer running about part 50-60% throttle. It pulls about 10 or so cars at a believable speed and stays pretty smooth. I have a matching B-unit for it which I've debated making it extra electrical picking for the front unit I think it would run much better.

That's exactly what this one came from. #4472, just like in your picture. My daughter wanted a dummy to push around the track, so squeezed an Athearn frame under it.

Thanks B77, I had asked for the pics. I have that same motor I think in a Pemco Alco maybe and a Bachmann GP30 in Chessie colors.

Ugh, since my Chessie's ears are probably burning since we are talking about it /tyco/forum/uploaded/ChrisC/trains053.jpg Fun fact. Chessie never had any F-units painted in their livery (that I've ever seen). BUT, there is a B&O 4472 as stated on the nose and it is a F7. Better yet on at least one occasion I think it came into my neck of the woods in western PA. http://www.rr-fallenflags.org/bo/bo4472god.jpg http://www.rr-fallenflags.org/bo/bo4472gob.jpg If the motor ever dies in this, I know a Athearn chassis that will plug right in and give it 8 wheel drive & pickup, can motor, etc. My friend has the unit and I've already swapped shells and tried it. I've really debated as a fun project painting it back to its true B&O colors. But its one of the engines from my childhood so I think I'll just leave it!

Chris, I mentioned that I have a Bachmann GP30 in Chessie colors that my fiance gave me, now Mrs., and I'd never mess with anything on it especially the paint. I thought I heard it is one of the most popular color schemes of all time.
