Hi all... I wonder if anyone can help me locate the proper place for 2 broken small parts
from a Big Boy which I received by post last week. I noticed that a handrail was lightly
bent on the right side of the loco and, just above it there was something broken ...probably
through rough handling in transit. I have tried to show the broken parts and the place where
they seem to have broken off on a photo in my gallery ..I'll appreciate any help I can get about this.
I am not sure if 2 broken pieces should go where there seems to be something
missing though ....if you can shed some light ...
thanks & regards
Edgar

Hi Edgar,

I'm posting your photo here.

You're missing the generator on top of the boiler, as shown in the photo Ken Posted. If you can't find the original in the packing, you could replace it with a brass Cal Scale part.

The two valves are mounted under the cab & firebox on the right hand side.

The handrail can easily be straightened with a pair of long nose pliers.

thanks Ken and Nelson for the most informative response ...greatly appreciated here!
Judging by Ken's photo of the rusted Big Boy, it would seem to me that the proper
generator to order from Cal Scale would be either #190-234 (Pyle dual voltage) or #190-335 (w/muffler). I'll try to order the part as soon as I get your expert opinion about the one
to go for. I also thank Nelson for pointing out the right places for the 2 broken valves.
thanks again for your help
