Before you get too far down the rebuild track, check yr wheel set hubs for cracks around the nut in the wheel that takes the driver bolts. CJ notorious for cracking there - can be repaired with cyano[thin or gel], deps on extent of gap - worth fixing while you have it apart. Tanked

The last owner must've had that issue because there's JB'S WELD around it. Where may I be able to locate parts? " Heck with counting 'em rivets, TRAINS ARE FOR FUN! Not called the Mad Scientist for nothing either!"

Well, I guess you will have to join the scavenging hordes of CJ owners out there turning over train shows & watching ebay - reality is the only 'clean' wheels are probably on brand new (IHC?) CJ's these days - (Actuall, not sure if new CJ's are being produced). I have been watching ebay for a year & have not seen a clean pair listed yet. There was a spokes damaged set a few weeks back & they went for about $26, if I recall correctly. Unfortunately uncracked spare CJ wheels are very very rare. Repairing seems the main avenue these days. Its a pity because the Loco has tons of character. Tanked

* Pennsylvania Railroad Folks. Did you know that a Pennsylvania rail road Class G3 locomotive is nearly identical to the Casey Jones locomotive. There is a photo of PRR G3 #7277 on the internet. The tender is different. It looks like a PRR E6 tender. frank toptrain
