Also shown in Jan/Feb 1993 Diesel Era magazine. Any clue how you would use coal to run a diesel prime mover? They would seem rather exclusive of one another. Any info on this loco/project would also be greatly appreciated!

Okay, some quick searching found this:

Looks like some kind of "liquid coal" used in diesels.
If you download the PDF, you see that they used a "Coal-Water Slurry" for fuel. Interesting stuff, I'll read more. Maybe someone else has some info.
