Does anyone know if this set had a matching engine and caboose ? I bought this on ebay and would really like to have it complete.

Thanks for your help.

Hi Russell. From what I remember and there was no Circus Engine. The set listed in 1974 as the Big Top Special # 08151 consisted of 5 cars, of which you have 3. The 4th car is the animal cage car and a Lifelike combined shows caboose, it also included a Virginia & Truckee searchlight work caboose. The Engine was B & O 4-6-2 Pacific Steam engine. There was also some Items listed in 1975 catalog as Circus Paraphernalia. There was the animal cage wagons, tableau, dog wagon, band wagon, tractor, and car wheel sets. Here is a picture of the set and accessories fro 1974 dealer Catalog. Carl

Thanks for the info, now I will have to see if I can pick up that engine and caboose. I never was much for life like trains, but I do like this set.

Hi 70elcamino,

Those are some nice cars you have there. If you are just looking to put a Circus engine on the front, one like this would be kind of nifty.
