I recently picked up a Rock Island Shark with no road number, Hong Kong. When was this produced, and was it in any catalog?

| Very popular or mass produced might be more accurate. Probably the highest production of all Tyco Shark's. According to Tony Cook's website production of the RI version began in 1980 and ran into the 90's, near Tyco's end. You point out there is no road number. I'm not sure I recall a road number for those on the nose.
