In 88 or 89 I received a steam loco from my daughter for Christmas. I assumed it was a USRA 0-6-0 switcher by the wheel confguration. I have been trying to find info on this model by Bachmann (Hong Kong) without success.

Bachmann is now currently offering a model that looks exactly like mine but is a 2-6-0 Mogul. I have checked Bachmann's model list from the past and can find no 0-6-0 with the CN logo and road number 6012.

The model I have does not have the front bogies. I am thinking that perhaps my daughter bought a 2-6-0 Mogul with the bogies missing.

On comparing photos of a Bachmann USRA 0-6-0 switcher and the 2-6-0 Mogul I would say I have a mogul with the bogies missing. My loco is identical to the photo minus the bogies.

Any comments.

It's a very real possibility that they are one in the same, they simply retooled the frame and drive to add the pilot truck. They did it in the early 80s by turning an 0-6-0 into a 2-6-2. They also did it to a 2-8-0 they offered when they added the trailing truck...
