* wks thanks for the nice words. Its Sunday morning so "GOOD MORNING EVERYONE". I think I am awake , so maybe I am. Today up north, at the State line , In Montvale NJ is a train show at St Joe's High School. It is easy to find. You wake up. Get in your car because it is far away, MAKE SURE YOU GOT DRESSED , don't want to go their in you underwear or PJ's. Drive to the Garden State Parkway. Go north. At the big sign that says " Last Exit in New Jersey" you exit. You make a left. go under parkway to first light and make a left. in about 3 or 4 blocks you will see a train show sign. make right into parking lot. park car. Get out of car and walk to building. Go to door with big sign " Train Show Entrance. Walk inside. People greeting you at table will want money from you. Give them $7.00. As long as you go into the train show, and not down one of the many hallways you are OK. I always walk to where the noise of all the people is and then I am there.
* See that is how easy it is to go to a train show.
Have a nice day everyone !

My 4 recent Marx HO train acquisitions are seen here made up as a train. Head ended by a New Haven Hustler diesel, Virginian Coal car, Portland cement car, and Valley Express caboose.

** It is a tender for a battery powered Marx set made for, but distributed through the mail by Green Giant Vegetable Company. It was named the Valley Express. Every Marx collector has at least one of the 5 0r 6 different battery powered sets made by Marx. Certain special box cars made only to be sold in Battery sets make these set interesting.

Well I kind of put a little pressure on it as I reached past it and Wal-la! Broken turntable. Good news is while digging through some train boxes a few days ago, I found my spare parts for the turntable I have. Might be able to repair it.
* Now back to today and the layout. A photo taken in the service area. The three locomotives I got today at the flea market.

I got a Bowser Aerotrain a few months ago, but didn't get it running till yesterday. Here is a video of it running around my layout. The loco is well weighted, and could easily pull twice as many cars.

Wow that's really nice. Did you add any weight to the trailing cars? The one time I had my Bowser Aerotrain running the trailers refused to stay on the track because they were so light. So back into boxes they went.

Well Thomas my cars like yours are not weighted. The locomotive frame is. Quite a bit, but that is how I got it. I lubed with oil. all the axels in there plastic holders. That's is all I did. That and I don't go fast and my drawbars all are lose and not restrictive.

* Well due to the need in other parts of the enormous, PGW railroad empire for heavy power for a short time, all high horsepower locomotives were dispatched west. The result of this is the use of many little diesel critters, smaller steam, a few 600 to 1,000 horse power switchers, and 5 or 6 F3 and F7 locomotives. lots of double heading going on at this time. We are handling our current need for power. Our roving reporter Snoopy has helped us out with a few photos of the early morning seen at the Frankford roundhouse.
* So far only one critter, the MARX Rock Island, has broken down, or shall I say was never able to start-up. It had one of those signs on it, in the lot when acquired, saying it didn't run. No-wonder it was so cheep. The analysis after arrived at after Greasy George and Bull Barry tried a repair was, and I quote, " It don't work" It needs a entire drive replacement.

That sucks about the turntable, hope you can fix it.

Is that Erie between the Southern and the other Erie a Mikado or a Hudson?

I am posting a video of my two Hobbytown AS616s doubleheading pulling a small freight. I would do a larger on but would need to run it faster. When I upload videos into flicker I have recently had a time problem and to upload a 30 second video it is taking 5 or 6 minutes now. I wanted to run the train slowly so you could see it better. Train size goes up and download time goes up and flicker stops the upload and tells me a error has accrued and doesn't accept the video. Now you know why the video is small. All I can say is I am working on it.

What brand drone did you use to snap that nice overhead shot? ;)

My edit frank, I stood on a step stool my 4-year-old grandson uses to play with my trains, and reached high as i could. I took three shots and only that one was a keeper.

If you need any help operating the roundhouse, give me a call at 555-1212. Seriously, that is a neat setup.

Barry, Thanks alot for the nice words.
Brian, As to operating the roundhouse area, it doesn't operate. It is my false front for photographs. I did wire it so it could operate but problems with the alignment of the turntable track put the kibosh on that. I would need another larger turntable and another try at gluing the track to the turntable frame again. This is the second turntable i've had here on this layout. This roundhouse area is just for photos.
This is a photo of me walking through the ready tracks. I am passing three Lehigh Valley Camelbacks on my left and can almost touch them.

Here is my service track area with all CRR of NJ locomotives getting ready for Christmas. All 10 are CRR of NJ. Just on one you see only the tender between the coaling tower and the air force box car.

* Today a ANNA GP7 is seen in the service area at Frankford Roundhouse. You may recognize the old Santa Fe pant on this old Athearn yellow box locomotive. I did three of them for my Anna Railroad.
