So...
I'm building a CUSTOMIZED Life-Like late '80s / early '90s GP30 in NCVA livery. The NCVA is a short line is central/eastern North Carolina owned by Rail America. It will go perfectly with my US-1 customs.
I had an old GP30 laying around from around the late 80s/90s. Wow- when I took it apart to prep it for paint, I didn't realize that engine had power to only the front axles.
Oh well. I guess If the shell comes out nicely I can always transplant it.
Should be fun with detailing it. I hope to have pictures up by the end of the week. Below is a picture of the NCVA livery-

I have a whole set thats pretty much NIB I can sell you if you'd like. I will never really use it. The sign stickers are still on the sticky sheet. The set comes with the green dump truck and gravel trailer. It has the crane and dumping station for the dump truck and gravel hopper with unloader for the tractor trailer. All the paper work is there. Since it's for you give me 40$ plus shipping and its yours....let me know...

Change of plans!
I ran into an issue with some sort of oil contamination in the plastic body.
However, I so happen to have a nice Athearn SD45-2 that would look AWESOME in that color scheme. I'm sure NCVA does NOT have any SD45s on their roster... but at this point 100% realism will take a back seat.

Hi JohnnyKane. Since the engine is a Low nose GP9 You could use a Athearn GP9 and get a Low conversion kit and make your engine. Or you could use a Tyco/Mantua GP20 and add a dynamic brake. Would not be an exact model but close enough without doing much work. Carl

Microbusss- I have a US-1 crossing that will be used at some point. I need to move to a bigger house before I can set up the US-1 & train permanently.
Well, I've almost finished the paint and decals... pictures will follow later tonight.
