I am running out of the liquid/solvent I have been using to clean track, wheels & motor commutators. I can't find any more & wonder what liquids others use for these activities? Thanks Tanked

Atlas makes a product called Conducta Lube-Cleaner. The product number is 192. It states on the bottle, locomotive motor lubricant, and track cleaner. Restores and lubes commutators, and brushes. Plastic compatible. Also like Brian said Rail Zip is a good product for track.

| I'm really happy with an electric contact cleaner by CRC (called QD Electronic Cleaner). It's sold at Ace Hardware. Works on track, motors, wheels, etc. You can tell how good it works by how dirty the cloth gets!

Contact cleaner is a good choice. I use MG Chemicals, which has silicone in it that makes it especially good for motors, because it leaves behind a small amount of dry silicone lubricant. It should still be available at Radio Shack, but I buy the larger can at an electronics supply place near me.
I'll keep my eyes peeled for the CRC QD cleaner. I have their 2-26, but it's too thick for HO motors, IMHO. Works great on American Flyer S gauge, tho.
90% isopropyl alcohol makes a good track cleaner, and is inexpensive.
