Alco Fan, its the only one I have come across. I had to go to Tony's site to make sure it was listed. On the bottom it says "Mantua Tyco".
I like the looks of the GP20's and we should probably start a pic thread like the 430's and the F units.

Mike a GP20 series would be cool. A GG1 in Amtrak colors.

Reasonably authentic Amtrak in Tyco is an interesting challenge. Amtrak ran the GG1, of course, and also had a number of F7s in the early days. But to me, the greatest Tyco Amtrak would be to kitbash a Santa Fe F7 into an Amtrak 575-599 switcher like this one:

As you can see, the top is like an F7 (air tanks optional), the sides are like a GP7, and the cab is sort of a shortened EMD low-nose cab with the roof and back built up. Amtrak's ownership of these switchers dates from 1984, when they purchased them from the Santa Fe.
So, a Tyco GP20 + a Tyco F7 + sheet styrene, etc. = a CF7.
The reason this would be especially cool is that the Santa Fe made these switchers itself in its shops out of its F7s. The C in CF7 stands for the ATSF Cleburne (Texas) shops where some 233 units were rebuilt. So the kitbashing itself would be prototypical!

Why kit-bash? Doesn't Athearn make a model of that? Maybe not the right phase mind you. I don't know if Athearn makes it in Amtrak. But it would be a rather impressive kit-bash!

Darn! You're right, Athearn did make the CF7 in a number of road names. The Amtrak one has kind of a bizarre paint scheme. I should have realized that the CF7 would be popular enough to make commercially. There are a few of them (by which I mean real ones) still prowling around here on various New England short lines.

Ah, don't let the Athearn loco slow you down! Do the kit-bash! It would be loads of fun and will be quite an accomplishment.
But I recommend you use the long hood from an AHM GP18 rather then the Tyco GP20. The GP20 has a section directly behind the cab on the fireman's side that projects out from the side of the hood. I don't think that is found on the CF-7. Also, the GP18 has far fewer louvers to remove from the hood doors.

Loopy, that sure brings back memories of those Amtrak pumpkin Geeps I used to see on the ride into Hoboken back in the late 70's. They were usually lashed up to MOW equipment, or long trains of clickless rail.
