So, I said I was NOT going to actually purchase any Tyco, just fix up what someone gave me. However, I found this in the $3 box at my LHS, and since the B&M was the line that ran through the town where I grew up, how could I resist? This came in the red box, is marked Mantua, and has plastic trucks but a metal underframe. Early 1960s?

Nice...

Mine was a freebie...a police officer was clearing out an evidence locker, there was a box with several cars and my Sof76 430 in there. This car was one of them, I weathered it and popped a pair of Kadees on...

Well, the tracks end there (Penacook, NH) and while technically not abandoned, no freight since the 1990s. Guilford (aka Springield Terminal, aka Pan Am Railways) owns it but it was last operated by New England Southern.

In the 1950s, there was passenger service thru Penacook to White River Junction, VT. I remember trains consisting of 4-6 Budd RDCs. The B&M was big on Budd cars (I have heard it was the largest single purchaser), esp. for passenger service on branch lines.

Now if Tyco had only made an RDC . . .
