Hey folks,
I just placed an order with www.yardbirdtrains.com I have ordered from them before. Dan Bush is a great guy to do buisness with. They have many parts for Mantua steam locos. He shipping charges are minimal. $2.39 for this order.
What did I order? A new cast metal pilot, detail parts, and engineer & fireman for my Mantua 4-6-2 Pacific. Previously, I have ordered all new side/main rods and valve gear for this loco. I think the prices for these parts was very reasonable.

Unspoken expectations are premeditated failures.

The only diesel parts that I know of are traction tires for the early diesels.
These are the o-ring style, later styles had a more square-ish cross section, so I'm told. They are expensive at $1.25 each. He said that even at that price he makes very little money off them. I got 4; along with my steam parts order. Call and ask. I know he has some things that are not listed on the website.

I got a set of MU-2 F-7 truck frames from Yardbird a while back. When I talked to him on the phone, it sounded like he had a big parts box with pieces he'd salvaged off junkers. I agree with NC...no harm in calling. :)

I just checked it out, and they carry remotoring kits for Tyco. Looks like a better way to go ( albeit expensive at $25-30 per motor unit ), than trying to find a working MU-2 unit. So I guess someone HAS been working on remotoring the Tyco engines, but it won't come cheap.
