Ok. Here's my situation. I built a coal loader to add interest to my layout. It goes inside a warehouse-type building. The problem is whenever I drive the train inside the building, I can't see the car I am loading. I think If I put a scale barrel or weed I can know where to line up the car, but I don't know how to see when it's full. I've heard of something called a relay, and I think it may help me. I need something that when I push a button, it will conduct electricity for a certain amount of time, so that the motor makes a full revolution. That way I can just push the button once I have the cars lined up. Does anyone know if a relay would work for this, or if there is something else out there that would work? Any suggestions would be great. Thanks!

A relay and a timing circuit to shut it off would work.
I don't know if that is something you can buy or if it is something that would have to be built using a 555 timer chip and a relay.
