Nothing beats a cold beer!
Heres mine, a Burlington gondola (PMI-Lima) with 3 "Lowenbrau" beer tanks, actually from my hometown, Munich/Germany.

My one beer car. My little girl wanted to buy a train thing for daddy so I told momma where one could be found for cheap at a local flea market---the guy even cut her a break on the price...

Picked this up from my rivet counter friend, after building it on and off for a few weeks I know why he had it lol. This little beauty comes from C&BT shops (don't think they are around anymore). EVERYTHING had to be added on. The grab irons made me so angry I never did install the ones on the car ends. Also had to order a pennsy boxcar sheet for the decals, hopefully I can get some more mileage outta that. Wheels & trucks I got upgraded for free, but the couplers are way too short for normal use it needs slightly longer ones. I like the look though!

I have that same beer gondola. I kind of like it but I have to wonder... would it be smart to ship beer that way? I mean I hope those kegs are REALLLLLY well insulated... or I sure wouldn't wanna drink what's inside 'em

Not my pics but dang I sure do love this model! I think out of the 999,991 ICG, C630`s made a few can be salvaged for a project like this.

I LIKE VERY MUCH.., WONDER WHAT IT WOULD LOOK LIKE IF YOU HIT IT CAREFULLY WITH A HAMMER IN CERTAIN AREAS LIKE IT WAS IN A HEAD ON CRASH INSTEAD OF A HEAT SOURCE, TRUE TYPE DENTS AND MISSING SECTIONS.. SOME RUST IN SPOTS, BROKEN OTHER PARTS AND IT MIGHT LOOK NICE ALSO...WILL HAVE TO TRY, HAVE SEVERAL OLD SHELLS AROUND...AND OTHER PARTS, WOULD MAKE A INTERESTING DISPLAY...ESPECIALLY IF THERE WERE TWO FROM SAY THE SAME ACCIDENT OR MAYBE A FEW CAR PARTS PUSHED INTO THE FRONT...THE FANGED ONE
"Though amid all the smoking horror and diabolism of a sea-fight, SHARKS will be seen longingly gazing up to the ship's decks, like hungry dogs round a table where red meat is being carved, ready to bolt down every killed man that is tossed to them . . ." by Herman Melville

Budman... I remember seeing that listing about 2 years ago. But I forgot to look if it sold?
Really great work. The only trouble I had... and really I hate to criticize because it IS great work... but my eye still keeps focusing on the "melty blobs" on the shell, and that so distracts it. But man, as far as the battered and weathered appearance, it really does look like it was dredged out of a river following a derailment or bridge accident. Truly good work. I'd have hacked the melty blob parts with a rough razor edge to give an even more convincing appearance.
Heck, I kept my SantaFe 630 to try exactly this at some point in the future... but ironically enough I don't have a suitable flatcar to use!

I think this Tyco Rock Island loco I got in this pic would work for either a scrap yard or that damaged loco in that pic

Hi GIC,
they're shipping beer all over Europe in normal trucks and in the end, after a few hours in the fridge, it's still beautiful. Think they do so anywhere in the world. Some time ago I've been visiting Coors at Golden, CO and I've seen the trains leaving the brewery. There were no reefers. Most important is to keep the containers clean and locked tightly that nothing unwanted can enter.
Enjoy your drink!
Martin

Thats right GIC. I think the car went for around 100$ I thought it may give people some ideas. I agree the melted plastic does`nt look too convincing.

That wreckage is amazing, and to think I repainted my C630
If you think of the melted areas as spots where the metal got dented up when the engine crashed it sorta works. Either was it was a very interesting attempt at something pretty difficult. Was probably done by some rivet counter who found a better use for Tyco stuff

How does that even happen Every so often I'll see an engine like that on ebay, and it always leaves me amazed. I remember seeing an auction a while back with a couple of Athearn F-7's thats shells had been incredibly warped. The funny thing though was that aside from the shell, the rest of the engine looked fine.
I like that S630 on the flatbed. The blobs don't look too bad. It just looks like the engine caught on fire and then fell in a river
