Please see my Newbie introduction in that section.

Okay I've been away from the train scene for about 30+ years.
Even back then I just ran one train around a continuous loop or fig. 8 or whatever.

Some of my questions may sound dumb as I'm not sure of the right terminology in HO madel railroading today.

As for the blocking question?

I just want to be able to run 2 trains at the same time, in different parts of the tracks and make it where one train waits till the block is clear before it resumes normal operation.
All this being done without me having to stop the train myself.

Is this possibel?
If so, is blocking the right term?

I think that's what I heard it called on I Love Toy Trains on RFD.
But their so Loinel specific, I didn't know if this could be done with Tyco?
I do already have 2 mint Tyco block controllers, if that helps.
The way Tyco explains it is that you can have 2 train operation, but with only one train running at a time

Also, are there any so-called bibles of HO model railroading, layouts, electrical, etc...? Or a all-in-one book or dvd?

Thanks in advance!

welcome ,it sounds to me ,you my want to look into digital control options which can perform all those tasks. the problem i see is converting your vintage to be dcc compatible. most new stuff is ,or can be fitted w/ little work. ive played around with it and i really dont care to much for it . you will get other ideas from this site im sure .i run four seperate engines with three power packs . it all depends on how much wiring you want to do.i guess i like what i grew up with a little more then the tech stuff. goodluck. adam

Welcome also, what I did was set up a outside main line and an inside switching track that has separate power, on both there is at least two sidings that can have power off, or on to either power supplies.. that lets me run the two train separate...or power down and then power up the other loco. I am going to convert to digital command in the future or r/c possible...this works for now.. I just added a mining operation which is separate power and uses a siding to transfer the ore to other cars that then can be pulled out to main track... so now I can run all three...the fanged one
