Hey guys I need help Identifying the type of Tyco set this train set is. The set includes:

  • 1-Santa Fe front end car.
  • 1-Santa Fe back end car.
  • 1-The southern railroad car.
  • 1-Virginian car.
  • 1-ATand SF car.
  • 1-piggy back service santa FE car.
  • 1-Tyco HO electric power pack.
  • 1-Tyco track pack.
  • 1-package of 24 trackside signs and Poles.


The serial number is 7653-K-08-4 and this is and brown box era train set.

Here is a picture:



If you could tell me what its worth that would be nice too.

By type, what do you mean, the name of the set? It may be in one of the posted catalogs online.

As to value, the items in the set are all pretty common.. $50 would be the high end of the scale IMHO, and only because it's sealed MIB -

I don't think that's one of the named, Tyco-catalog-featured sets. If it is, it could simply be a variant of the "twin diesel" sets sometimes shown in catalogs and often sold through Catalog merchants (Sears, JC Penney, et al). Box style and contents date it to about 1975-76.

Not really a very desirable or colorful example (hope you like red and silver) and the cars are all dirt common. But it's a nice, basic set that started many a hobbyist. Agree that $50 is probably a fair price on the high end, but only as a set.
