got this common car but i dont now what it is for, I dont think they transport crackers with it. So what else then? The box says "no coal". But I think for grain you need a covered hopper. Question is: what did they transport with that hopper if this ever exist ??? - Erich

Erich, It's a pretty common Mantua Heavyweight car depicting an American hopper car used mostly for coal, gravel, etc. The Ritz would seem to be a totally fanciful livery, and I'm guessing the "No Coal" refers to the fact the model doesn't come with a plastic 'coal' load, which some Mantua's did. This seems to be the newer Mantual Classics by Model Power, who probably just didn't reproduce the coal load (unless they are leaving it open to carry crackers in!) Chris (here's an older version with coal load when Mantua was made in US).

Ritz are good for a snack, but my sister bought these cookies back from Denmark that were so delicious...I can't spell the name but they look a lot like what you've got there Erich.
Something-waffle I think!

I don't know those ones, sorry. I did find the ones I'm talking about though!
Stropwaffles they're called, here's a picture:

Mmmmmm...they are one of the best tasting things I've ever eaten! Right up there with strawberry milkshakes and HP steak sauce!
