Hi Ken,

the paint scheme look somewhat handpainted to me. See paint spills next to the door and on the edge of black and yellow in the corners of this car.

The maker of this one is Mehanotehnika/Yugoslavia. But similar cars were made with nicer bogies trucks by Roco/Austria. The use of NEM-couplers also make me believe that this car comes from the Balkan and was originally made for european markets.

In my collection I have both versions, Roco and Mehanotehnika.

Cheers,

Martin

Martin's right about the Mehano heritage on your TH&B Double Door Wood 40' Box Car.

AHM once offered it...

It has also been offered by IHC and I believe Model Power. Model Power would be my guess on the TH&B example, as they've favored many Canadian paint schemes in their line over the years. It does appear to have had some paint help by a previous owner.

Have seen that car in an AHM box as originally imported as well. Have two or three in my train flea market boxes.
