This week I've got the City of Bristol (Hornby) pulling some LMS coaches past an Airfix signal box. I've just installed a two-light signal, an 'Ideal' product from many years ago. You can just see the top of the switch I flush-mounted to the right, allowing the 'signalman' to control the aspect. Off to the left is my new peninsula.

This is a freelance loco I built using an MDC 2-8-0 chassis, an AHM Casey Jones boiler and cab and an Aristocraft tender.

Nice steamer and setting, Ray. In the following pic, I have a Class 08 shunter on my 'interchange' track. I made a few modifications last night, eliminating the peninsula I had added to my layout.(see previous post above). Instead, I found space for another siding on the layout board proper. This corner now has two short spurs, one serving as an interchange track. I've boxed in this corner with a backdrop (provided by Ken). I'll work on scenicing this area (and becoming a better photographer!) so I can use it as a photo stage.

Just as a follow-up to my last post, here's what my ever-so-humble 4x6 is looking like at this point. Most turnouts are power-routing (and mainline turnouts are signalled), so if a bit of skill is used, up to 4 locos/trains can be held on the layout at once, although 3 is about the max in order to do much operating. The theme is that the interchange is in the lower left, the outer loop is a former main line that has now been downgraded (and possibly sold to a short line), and the inner-loop represents a branch, serving the spurs on the back side. The theme is not hard and fast at the moment, as I'm in somewhat of a transition between an American and British theme! I'm mostly enjoying running trains, working on structures, lighting, and signalling. Also working with a little animation--have an operating oil derrick, for example.

Hey Adams:
Like the "08" I'm gonna redo mine as a North American export. Gonna cut in steps laders holds windows and doors to make it more HO and use it as a Diesel Dock switcher. Gonna do the same with a Hornby Dock Diesel Switcher. They actually had a few very like the 08 in North Vancouver working a pier there in the 50's.
