Not being an expert I would like to know what this is and does it have any value or should I pitch it with stuff I won't throw out.

I also have what I thought was Tyco but says RSO on the bottom of the fuel tank. what's that all about? I can send pics but it looks common

Did AHM and Life-like get their mechanisms from the same maker? My AHM RS-2 has the exact same mechanism as this 415.

Yup. They were made by Mehano, which has made locos for many different brands. Early versions may be marked RSO or Tempo.
