I picked up a MRC/Lima Monon C420 for a steal at the local hobby shop, runs nice, but the shell got smashed on the long hood end. I need a good shell, prefer Monon, but will take any as long as its a MRC/Lima shell, must have handrails. Thanks MIke

Here is a pic of the damage to my shell. If someone could get a different shell or was good at scratch building they could patch the shell buy notching out the damage section, even right down to the walkway if necessary to get a clean cut, then repaint the unit back to Monon. Anybody able to help get the old girl going again? From my research, a seperate shell for this model might take along time to find. The new atlas shell is different, the pilot ends on this model are part of the diecast chassis, kind of like the old Atlas/Kato RS1. Thanks in advance. Mike

| I might be able to help you out if you don't mind doing some work. I have one MRC/Lima loco and can use it to make a resin casting of the end of the hood. You would need to remove the end of your hood and replace it with the resin copy. You can make handrails with brass rod and Athearn stantions. Afraid the original railings are too thin to resin cast.
