Here are several photos of my hi nosed C630. It is the Tyco C630 shell cut down to fit on the AHM C628 chassie. I replaced the plastic hand rails with bent brass wire and Athearn stantions. I replaced the molded on grabs with ones of bent brass wire. I also remotored the mechanism and added 2 flywheels.

You say it is "cut down"...is TYCO's C630 longer than the AHM C628? If so where did you reduce the shell's length to fit the C628 underframe?

BTW, It looks great!

By cut down, I meant that I removed everything from the walkways down. All I had left to mount to the chassie was the short hood, cab and longhood. All three were in one piece and is an almost drop fit replacement for the C628 shell. The Tyco shell is slightly too long at the cab. The excess length is visible at the front steps just in front of the cab. This was my first attempt at a kitbash, so the slight gap at those steps was considered quite acceptable to me.

The complete project, NOT counting painting, totaled about 10 hours. I could easily have spent more on fitting and filling some of the gaps, but I quit a project when it reaches a point that I am happy with. By the way, painting took about 3 weeks! Me and my airbrush still have some issues to deal with.
