Another haunt find this weekend for my CotW.

This caboose at first struck me as a crappy sprayover paintjob... BUT that graphic is stamped on both sides, not decaled.

Of course being a fan of trucks and piggybacks, I had to bring it home.

It's marked AHM on the bottom.

Another caboose, this Santa Fe one I picked up not too long ago.

Just after a couple minute's research, I found out it's an Athearn kit.

It looks good, but certainly has a "toy-like" feel to it.
However, the number printed on the side is prototypical, and it's just plain better than the one I was using before.

That's A-OK in my book.

Ah, it seems that this week's Cotw is Caboose ridden.
Down with FRED!!!

here's my offering... these were the "out of production" when word got around that Mantua was no longer producing train cars...
Well, now there's the "Mantua Classics" circa 2008... oh well...

Pennsy is one of two favorite roads east of the Miss'ippi Riv'r.

Somethin' about that tuscan shade...

John

I don't have a one track mind. It depends on the turn-out.
"I love your catenary!"
Is that a power-trip or just another pick-up line?

This is the caboose from the President's Choice "Yard Bull" set. The entire set was made by Mehano and was released in 2002.

Bachmann, from the barn box lot. I replaced the trucks and added Kadee #5s. I'v since replaced these trucks with roller bearing types.

Cheez--I like those little wood cabooses like you posted. Model Power apparently still makes those in several road names. I've never seen one in public, but they are on the website. http://store.modelpower.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=2234

Those wood cabooses are made in Slovenia (Mehano). According to their website they are still in production, even with all metal wheelsets!

So does Mehano make them for Model Power? I guess in the U.S, I would need to order from Model Power if I were to get one.
