Hi Frank. It is a Lindsay Conversion drive kit. They were made for Globe F Units and the Athearn RDCs. I have a few them. Do not know if there were any others. There were made around the 1950s. Carl

Carl is well informed. As to do I know of any others. No ! Aquireing this one was a fluke. I asked a friend at a show, while going thro his stuff, what it was? He said it was mine, and gave it to me. So this wasn't something I was looking for. frank

The tip-off for me was the labels ("Fire" and "BLD 731"). Revell seemed to be one of the very few mfg that had these mundane decals for their buildings and structures. Thomas

This may not be fair. The manufacture was around for only a few years, and this Alco PA1 and PB1 advertised maybe for only 2 years or so. The bodies are die cast, neither is powered though at the time they came with power drives. Lindsay drives. Both have the proper trucks and they are Lindsay. The other die-cast PA1 at the bottom is a Lindsay one there to compare castings which are different. A hint is they were made before 1950. * castings in question are the PB1 at the top, and the matching PA1 in the middle. frank

Ah Kenny you are guessing. The body on the bottom is the Lindsay used by HObbyline. the middle one and the top one are the ones I am looking to see if someone else knows who made them. frank

In a 1948 add in a railroad magazine A model train company " Hobbies Inc. ". released the PA A unit and promised the release of a PA B unit in a month. You see the b unit so it was released, but the company disappeared. frank
