I am looking for replacement "idler" gears for an older Bachmann engine. I believe these gears are just slipping on their shafts causing no or little movement and a crunching sound. Any ideas for replacement parts availability?

They aren't made anymore, so I guess your best bet is to buy a junker on eBay or at a train show, if no one here has it in their parts bin. Bachmann will replace any old loco with the newer version if you ship it back to them with about $20, IIRC.
