I've got some red box Tyco engines which are missing fuel tank screws, truck mount screws, etc... Is there anywhere to buy replacement screws? I was thinking maybe a hardware store would have them, but wasn't sure if they'd have screws that small. Any help?

I just had to replace screws on a tyco motor (old) that was riveted together, i went to the local hardware store looking, the 2-56 screws were in a box marked miniature screws, they only had a few so Good luck! Also try the net and or your local hobby shop they should be able to help you.

Good to know. I've got a couple of old Tyco motors I plan on ripping apart someday to fix up, and I'll definitely need those screws. Unfortunately, I don't think they'd work for the tanks or truck mounts The screws for the tank and trucks are long plastic screws (metal screws that are made for plastic?...somethin to do with the threads), which for some reason no one seems to have. I went to Rona, Home Depot...I even went to a place called "the Fastener Store", and even they didn't have any O_o. The guy at my LHS had one screw in his parts box which was enough to get one of my engines back on the tracks.
Oh well...I'll keep looking

Athearn sells 2-56 screws, I got them at my local hobby shop. I also got some (although more expensive) at Radio Shack, Circuit City, Source or whatever it is called now.
I also strip old electronic devices before I throw them out.

I figure Lowe's, Home Depot or such ... Lowe's has a section I believe that would satisfy any screw or clip need....
