My recently arrived VGN 430 Alco Century, mint w/rough box and handrails in bag. I did test it yesterday and it didn't run at first but I took it apart and oiled it and spun the armature freely with out the axles in place and it ran. I didn't realize the stripes on the pilot came on some and not others. The box price tag form Kmart says 12/79 that I'll take as a date and is the first year of production according to the Tyco Resource Site.

With the recent talk about the Athearn GP30, I figured I'd show my GP35. I know they're nothing special, but now I know a little bit more about them, coming from a redesigned GP30 mould that is.

Please excuse the messy handrail glue, it was like that when I bought it. I can only be blamed for the sloppy weathering.

sloppy weathering, MM 1498?
Nothing of the sort!
I'd say it looks great!

I don't have a one track mind. It depends on the turn-out. "I love your catenary!" Is that a power-trip or just another pick-up line?

That's actually a mistake...but I liked it.
The guy at the front looks pretty proud to be standing there too!

Thought that I would show the latest addition to Stoney creek, the Stoney Creek maintenance train, still needs to be lettered but is completed...the fanged one...garret

Hello Ken and Hello Carl ! About the ADM103: The 5 striper is one of those could , or should have been locomotives. It was a Amtrack. The black roof remains from the original paint. It looks good pulling a long tuscan red passenger train. It was fun to do and it is fun to run. frank
