Hello All, After abandoning my inverted figure-eight with sidings and complex control panel, I've settled on an outer oval of 22" radius, inner oval of 18" radius, crossover in front, spur in rear off inner loop, and spurs in front and rear off outer loop. Everything except the rear inner spur is a Peco power-routing swithch. The other is Atlas remote control, with block power wired to the spur also. The pic is the middle of the layout showing the town...Plasticville motel, Tyco H.J.'s, Tyco stations, and details like home-made lighted cars. I also really like the Walthers "Built-Ups" street lights. May convert to a British theme at sometime in future, for now, anything can show up on my railroad.

Wow did you find an HO scale airplane? Too cool!
Very cool layout if you ask me. I like that tunnel a lot.

| Thanks, The plane came from an old kit (I think offered by IHC now?) which included a hangar and two planes. My layout is too small for the hangar. I may put the plane on a wire attached to a mountain or backdrop to look like it's flying.

Adams, You are right , that is a nice match with the Midnight Special and the passenger cars. Thanks for sharing your progress. I really like being able to run 2 trains at a time also. BTW I like the BL2s also. We have one that operates close by.

Cool layout. I especially like that little motel you've got. Nice streamliner BTW!

Russ, It's actually 4x6. One of my goals was to run all of my equipment in the smallest space, as this is in my garage. The layout legs are on casters, and attached to the back wall (under backdrop) is a 1x3x8' strip. The main table rolls up to it, and it allows me to run a spur off the back side of the layout. You can just see it exiting to the right behind the hill along the back in the pic.

Here's a shot of the front left corner. Space is at a premium, but I've managed two short spurs here. The one with the uncoupling ramp also includes my version of the 'Bridge to Nowhere.' I'm big on having a connection to the "rest of the world." The plasticville station and Tyco microwave tower are lighted. On a small layout, I'm trying to create "mini-scenes" which are lighted, giving a feeling of separation from the rest of the layout.
