| In my opinion, Bachmann has done a great job in updating their old locos. The GP-40, GP-50, and B23-7 are great locos and very inexpensive. I have also heard very good things about thier SD-40 as well. I would expect the "new" DD40AX to have a metal frame/chassis, all wheel drive and pick-up, and at least 1 motor with flywheels. Quite possibly 2 motors even! Should run well and even if they dont update the shell, it is better then the old "DD40" by Athearn!

This was announced a month or two ago on another forum. I saw a guy requesting an old DD40X on the HO Yard Sale Yahoo group, so I shot him a note telling him to wait. He was really happy to hear the news. I guess this means no more $200 pancake motors.
I want one of those 45 Tonners. Any self-respecting loco should have siderods.
I think Bachmann's revised 4-8-4's are all good performers. They sure look better than their predecessors, even the Plus versions.

| Any mention of a non-DCC model? I don't use DCC and would rather not pay the extra to have it factory equiped.
